Best Time to Play Golf in the Caribbean
The Caribbean is a year-round golf destination, but conditions vary significantly by season. Knowing the best window for your destination can make the difference between a perfect trip and one cut short by storms.
Caribbean Golf Season — Month by Month
- November–January: Peak golf season. Dry, cooler temperatures, strong trade winds on oceanfront courses. Book 60–90 days ahead for top courses.
- February–April: Excellent conditions. Slightly warmer, winds moderate. Best balance of conditions and availability.
- May–June: Shoulder season. Good conditions in the morning, some afternoon showers. Green fees often lower.
- July–October: Hurricane season. Golf is still playable with morning tee times, but storm risk is real. September–October is highest risk.
Which Destination Has the Best Year-Round Golf?
The Dominican Republic's eastern corridor (Cap Cana, Punta Cana) has the most consistent year-round conditions in the Caribbean. Trade winds reduce humidity, the geography provides some storm protection, and even in peak hurricane months, morning golf is usually excellent. Villa Espada at Cap Cana is an ideal base year-round.
